The writer reviews the situation of the woman in the Syrian laws, specially concerning violence against women. She says that some laws fails to protect woman, while others lay a foundation for such violence, like the article 548 of the Penal Law that protects the murderer in "honour crimes".
However, other articles do protect woman, but maybe not implemented correctly. The writer goes to define different levels of violence and mentions the cases of forcing a woman to get married to a certain man, as one kind of violence against woman.
